How to create speedometer or clock in Illustrator

Hi. This tutorial is sequel of drawing clock, but this time with text field. From this tutorial you will know how not to rotate objects during distribution.
Image worth a thousand words. :) Here is the result:

Our first step:

- Create circle
- Create text field using "Type tool" with option "Paragraph - Align Center"

Align both objects.

Select text field and go to "Object - Envelope Distort - Make with Mash"

Window will appear. Set value "1" for both fields.

- Now select text field
- Select "Rotate tool"
- Hold "Alt" and click in the center of the circle

In dialog window enter "360/12" (Review previous tutorial for more details) and press "Copy" button.

Now keep pressing "Ctrl+D" until you will get all 12 objects.

Select all text fields and go to "Object - Envelope Distort - Release"

Here is what we got:

Now you can delete all grey squares.....

...and change text with "Type tool".
