Hi! From today's tutorials you will know how to create usual Christmas Candy in several minutes.
Here is what we are looking for:

First step - let's create circle - it will be the head of candy.

Take "Scissors Tool" and cut half of the circle.

Now we have arch. Take the "Pen tool".

Add vertical line using "Pen tool" and connect it with arch.

We will get one whole line if everything right. Make it thick using "Stroke" panel. Set field "Weight" and press buttons "Round Cap"

General form is ready, but we need to convert it into "Shape" instead of "Stroke". Go to "Object - Path - Outline Stroke"

Let's make a copy of our object. We need it to create glare. Select object, press "Alt+Shift" and drug-and-drop object. Release.

We need thin copy of our candy. I do it on this way:
Set "stroke" to get something like this:

Go to "Object - Path - Outline Stroke".

Right click - Ungroup.

Open "Pathfinder" panel and press "Subtract" button then Expand.

Now we have thin copy of candy.

Align both copies and move thin copy a bit left. Set colors like on the image below.
Go to "Object - Blend - Blend options" and dialog window will appear. Set "Smooth color" and press "Ok".

Go to "Object - Blend - Make" or press "Alt+Ctrl+B".

Our candy is ready. Let's add strips.
Create rectangle and turn it.

Now copy it several times and create one single object using "Pathfinder" panel.
Select all copies of rectangle and press "Add to shape" and "Expand".

Make a copy of candy, overlap both object and press "Intersect shape areas" and "Expand" buttons on the "Pathfinder" panel.

We got lines of the correct form. Align them with candy.

I did missing stripes using "Pen tool".

I hope this tutorial was helpful.
Thank you for reading this and good luck!
